The hand-harvested grapes were whole-cluster pressed to stainless steel tanks for overnight settling. The juice was then racked to barrels for fermentation by native yeasts and malolactic conversion proceeded naturally during aging, while the lees-stirring contributed to enhanced mouthfeel. After being aged for 14 months in French oak barrels, 25% new oak, barrels were hand-selected to assemble the final blend before being bottled unfiltered.
At DeLoach Vineyards we strive to produce distinctive wines that highlight unique terroirs in a socially and environmentally responsible way, practicing sustainable viticulture and minimally intrusive winemaking. The fruit for this Pinot Noir was grown in a cool climate, allowing the grapes to ripen over an extended season to develop concentrated flavors. We selected fruit from some of the finest vineyards in the Russian River Valley, including our own Estate Vineyard, Starkey Vineyard and BCD Vineyard.
Sourced and hand harvested from Fanucchi, Saitone, BCD, Slusser, Rue and Boschetti Vineyards, some of Russian River Valleys premier old vine Zinfandel vineyards, the fruit for this delicious wine was chosen for superior quality and variety. In warmer reaches of the valley where old vines persevere, grapes ripen over an extended season to develop wonderfully complex flavors.
