The fruit for our Vieilles Vignes Blanc is harvested from the heart of the cool Russian River Valley appellation from three distinctive vineyards: Ritchie, Saitone and Rusty Gate Farm. The Ritchie Vineyard vines are over 40 years old and yield small clusters with ripe skins and concentrated flavors. The Saitone Vineyard is located just under a mile from DeLoach and in the vineyard, the white varietal vines are intermixed among the red grapes. The Albariño was harvested form the Rusty Gate Farm Vineyard that is planted to two acres of Albariño vines in deep, well-drained sandy loam soil.
Aroma:
Our 2018 Vieilles Vignes Blanc opens with fresh aromatic notes of orange blossom and cantaloupe.
Palate:
The plush and structured mouthfeel showcases vanilla and melon flavors with a touch of citrus. This is a medium-bodied wine with a clean acidity that carries through the lengthy finish.
The 2018 Vieilles Vignes Blanc was sourced from vines planted 40 to 100 years ago in the northern reaches of the Russian River Valley.
The grapes were harvested between September 7 and October 24, and were whole-cluster pressed and fermented in neutral oak barrels and aged for four months prior to bottling.
